The Criminal Records Bureau? It has had a difficult week. It has had to defend its corner somewhat after the revelation that 2,700 people had been wrongly labelled as having criminal records. It's a fair point that this is a miniscule proportion - about 0.03 per cent - of the overall number of checks carried out, but I dare say that's no comfort to the likes of Emma Budd, 19, from south Wales. Emma works with disabled children and was knocked back by NCH because she was wrongly identified as a convicted shoplifter.
