Poetry is being used as part of a multi-pronged bid to reduce youth violence in the London borough of Islington.

Children at Robert Blair Primary School took part in the contest, organised by Islington Council's highways service following the death of Ben Kinsella.Ben, a student in Islington, died after being stabbed in June 2008.

Children were tasked with coming up with thought-provoking pieces to spread the message about the tragic effects of knife-crime. Prizes for the writers of the best poems, stories and essays were presented by Brooke Kinsella, actress and sister of Ben.
