
Adopting two of his five children was a "hugely rewarding" experience for Mark Owers, director of the Consortium of Voluntary Adoption Agencies (CVAA), who holds a life-long passion for helping children have the best start in life. "I have always been acutely aware that there are gorgeous children waiting to be loved by families and I wanted them to be part of my family and to give them a loving home," he explains.
His intense, yet positive, experience of the adoption process lasted nine months - the fact that this is the length of a pregnancy "isn't lost" on Owers and his wife.
