A hundred young people descended on the House of Commons for Express Yourself, an annual event for new and outgoing MYPs to reflect and discuss their plans for the year ahead.
For many it was their first visit to the seat of power and their first meeting with MPs. The day was attended by Vernon Coaker, Labour MP and co-chair of the UK Youth Parliament's board of trustees, Charles Hendry, Conservative shadow minister for young people, and Matthew Green, Liberal Democrat spokesman for young people.
Instead of lecturing, they listened while MYPs discussed what bothered them. Antisocial behaviour, education and bullying were the hot topics.
