SIOBHAN MCNULTY, 16, Derbyshire The next government should make a firm commitment to ending child poverty. How can the government stand there and say they are committed to ending child poverty? They missed this year's target to halve child poverty, which was part of their supposed 2020 strategy, and without more investment and monitoring they simply won't eradicate child poverty by 2020.
It's no use making a pledge to tackle this huge problem that affects one in three children within the UK; we need action.
We need a firm commitment and for the government to follow through with its promises. To do this, it will need to make legal targets to tackle the causes of child poverty.
