Research from the YWCA has stressed the importance of consulting young women when dev-eloping sex and relationships education schemes.
The charity presented the findings from the 'It's a sex thing' project at an education conference at the University of London last week.
The project involved 58 women aged 12 to 30 in discussion groups based in Acton, Northampton, Bristol and Carlisle. The scheme was financed by a 242,000 lottery grant.
Sally Copley, director of policy, research and campaigns, said: "The lesson for the YWCA is that we have to make sure young people are involved."
