Its message is that sometimes in your life you will get cold pricklies - warnings, punishments for bad behaviour - but that these can be accepted and understood if, when you are good, there are plenty of warm fuzzies.
The idea that perpetrators of antisocial behaviour should be demonstrably punished by having to wear a distinctive uniform while carrying out reparative community service reminded me of this story. Anyone who knows such young people will also know that many of them have never had a warm fuzzy in their life. Do I then immediately hear the cry of "not surprised, they don't deserve it"?
