This is essentially, though not exclusively, a youth agenda. I recently suggested that the legacy of the Blair years will not ultimately be Iraq but the awful waste of huge resources, allied to a huge political mandate, on an important youth agenda that has, to a large degree, manifestly failed. To see the new Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) under Gordon Brown - which broadly I welcome - come up immediately with yet more educational reform and renewed (third attempt) attention to teenage pregnancy is rather worrying; it is lucky that many will not have sufficient memory to recall the early days of Blair.
