He was opposed by Andrew Dinsmore MP, a one-time personal injury lawyer, who said the bill was "an unlimited charter to injure, kill and maim young children". To which Owen Paterson MP shouted: "Rubbish." As you do.

The bill's supporters were not happy when they realised Dinsmore intended to talk out the bill. Brazier was contemptuous that Dinsmore had "found it necessary" to table 150 or so amendments. "I do not think," he said, "the Guide leaders and Cadet instructors, and those struggling to organise clubs for everything from rugby to roller skating, will take a charitable view."

In fact, there wasn't much evidence of charitable views. Dinsmore gave his opinion that the compensation culture is no more than an urban myth.
