OPINION: The Ferret ... digs behind the headlines

That, at any rate, was the story in the Birmingham Evening Mail on 14 October. Four days later, Mail readers got a different slant, thanks to youth worker Andi Thomas, of Aston Community Youth Project, who helped plan the event.

"Ms Dynamite turned up and did nothing all day but cause confusion," the paper reported Thomas as saying. "She was arrogant, rude and abusive and wouldn't even sign autographs or talk to the children involved."

He said that Ms Dynamite refused to come out of her room until the tunnel to the stage was completely clear of children and organisers. And she swore on stage.
