The sports hall at Bishop Douglass School in Finchley, north London, is reverberating with the thud of boxing gloves against leather. It's Friday evening and a group of lads - mostly aged 13 to 15 - are enjoying a boxercise session at a Fitter Kids after-school club. He is certain his fitness has improved and has learned about some new sports via the club. But one of the best things about it is the atmosphere, he says. "We just cheer everybody on and give them encouragement to do their best."
