Opinion: If I were in charge of... Money - Laura Arowolo, 13, and Shenelle Markland, 13

If we were in charge of money we would not allow anyone to be born in poverty. In fact, every individual would have exactly the same amount of money. So children who are the same age as us would have just as much money as their parents.

Sometimes young people can get a bit carried away when they get their own money. They might spend it on things that aren't really that necessary, like PlayStation games. So all young people would get personal advisers.

If we had our own money, we wouldn't rely on our parents and they wouldn't need to worry about supporting us. This means we'd all be debt free. People would be happy to work for the same amount of money and education would be free. Healthcare would also be free. And because people wouldn't be worrying about how much they were getting paid, the quality of services would be great.
