NO - ROWAN BOYLE, 16, UK Youth Parliament and Worcestershire Youth Cabinet
As a young person and also a member of the UK Youth Parliament I have never heard of any European youth policy or come across any of them in any form. If the UK was really serious about youth policy, young people would be more aware of it.
The Government could reach young people by building it into personal, social and health education lessons and also publishing posters and putting them in places where young people will see them and take notice. It is quite alarming to discover there are policies that affect me and my friends and we are not aware of them. It also surprised me to discover that my senior youth worker was not aware. Policies will not be effective until young people know enough about them, so in conclusion the UK is not taking this seriously enough and that needs to change.
