In nine out of 10 cases placements close to school are definitely best but there are situations where moving out of county can benefit young people. But it's definitely better to keep stability in friends and schools. It's not better to be moved 300 miles away from home. The most important thing about my placement was that I got on well with my foster carer - that should be the important thing when choosing a placement.
