Gove announced last year that he did not want the inspectorate to gradeschools on pupil wellbeing or community cohesion.
But last week, he said he wants to radically overhaul how theorganisation works.
"It was originally the Office for Standards in Education," he said. "Iwould like to see it restored to putting standards first. That meansconcentrating more on asses-sing teaching and learning, the quality ofleadership and less on peripheral issues."
