What roles are there at Ofsted?
Ofsted employs a number of different inspectors across a range of educational and childcare services. Inspectors assess standards, identify improvements and report on their findings. They may also carry out registration visits and interviews to check the suitability of those providing services. Inspectors also investigate complaints about providers and take enforcement action. Ofsted also offers a range of roles in back office and administration.
- What skills or experience are required for inspectors?
An inspector of childcare or children's social care should be able to analyse and interpret evidence and use it to make objective judgments. They must be able to deal with sensitive information and write clear and, unbiased reports.
