Nurseries given cuts support kit

Council-run nurseries will be issued with guidance this week to help fend off cuts in government funding.

Childcare charity Early Education has created a support kit fornurseries that may be affected by the new funding model for freechildcare, the Early Years Single Funding Formula.

It includes methods of measuring the impact of the formula and ways toraise awareness of problems.

"We don't want a situation where there are such significant cuts that wecan't deliver to the most disadvantaged families," said Megan Pacey,Early Education's chief executive.
