Sinn Fein has said it is committed to increasing funding for youth services in Northern Ireland.
The party has taken the education portfolio in the Northern Ireland assembly government when it is restored next month.
Caitriona Ruane, the country's new education minister, is set to issue a mission statement.
A spokesman for Sinn Fein said: "The minister's approach will go beyond concerns about academic education to include provision of a broader range of services."
