As part of a 20,000 link-up, four places on Include Youth's Give and Take project will be set aside for offenders referred by the Youth Justice Agency. The pilot will be evaluated at the end of this year (YPN, 5-11 January, p14).
The deal will help the agency meet the aims on learning and reintegration for young offenders set out in its 2005-06 business plan, which Northern Ireland's criminal justice minister David Hanson launched last week.
Other priorities in the plan include more preventive work and a five per cent cut in reoffending rates among young people who leave the Juvenile Justice Centre by April 2008.
