The prospect of learning new sporting skills is being used to entice young people away from bad behaviour near railway lines in South Wales.

St Joseph Boxing Club in Newport has received a £10,000 funding boost from Network Rail as part of the No Messin' initiative, which aims to drive down the number of rail crimes committed by young people.

The grant will go towards refurbishing the club's gym with new equipment and a computer room, as well as purchasing a minibus to transport young members to the gym to encourage regular attendance.
