News round-up: Wales - Building industry targets NEETs

Welsh young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEETs) are to be encouraged to enter the construction industry.

The Construction Youth Trust is setting up a national project that will go into the most disadvantaged areas to deliver workshops. The Construction for Communities workshops will cover CV writing and interview techniques as well as taster sessions in construction sector trades for young people classed as NEET.

The Big Lottery Fund has given £355,591 to the 39-month scheme, which will launch in Neath Port Talbot and Rhondda Cynon Taff before expanding to other areas.
