Groundwork UK will use the money to launch a programme of coaching and support to provide Neet young people across Coventry and Warwickshire with employment and training opportunities. ?
?The "Progress" programme will support at least 840 Neet and at-risk young people aged 15 to 24 into or towards employment, training or education opportunities by helping them to overcome personal barriers and challenges. ??
The funding comes from the Building Better Opportunities programme, which is funded by the European Social Fund and the Big Lottery Fund to tackle social exclusion and poverty and drive local jobs.
Groundwork will deliver the programme alongside 15 delivery partners including Heart of England Mencap, Positive Youth Foundation, and Voluntary Action Coventry. ?
Graham Duxbury, chief executive of Groundwork UK, said: "We are delighted to be a part of the Building Better Opportunities programme and proactively play our part supporting young people find their way to a successful, healthy and happy future.
"By joining forces and working closely with expert local delivery partners, we can ensure that all young people who are enrolled with the programme will receive a unique, tailored programme of support that suits individual need, boosts confidence and ultimately helps them to secure a future worth working for."
