News Insight: Who's-who guide to new MPs with children's sector interest

The general election resulted in 232 new MPs entering Parliament, with many Labour and Conservative representatives in England having a background and interest in children and young people's issues. Neil Puffett takes you through the class of 2010

Stella Creasy (Lab) Walthamstow Creasy has a background in youth work, having set up a group in Walthamstow to help Muslim young men, as well as working with groups responsible for addressing issues around gangs in the area.

Her most recent role in the youth sector has been as head of public affairs and campaigns at The Scout Association. She says she will lobby government over the provision of funding to run groups.

She has also worked for Labour MPs Douglas Alexander as a researcher and Charles Clarke as a speech writer and researcher.

Stuart Andrew (Con) Pudsey After leaving school, Andrew started his career in the charity and voluntary sector working as a fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation.
