
Teaching in the most challenging schools often in the most deprived areas of England may seem like a daunting challenge. But for the hundreds of high-performing graduates signing up to join the Teach First programme each year, it is one they are willing to tackle head-on.
The charity has gathered cross-party support, receiving a mention in each of the three main parties' manifestos in the run-up to the general election. And in a further show of support, the organisation has just been given a £4m financial boost from the coalition government, which will allow it to expand into further areas of the country and also into primary schools.
