News in brief: The Home Office reinstates basic levels of support

The Home Office has reinstated basic levels of support for asylum seekers, even if they do not make a claim for asylum as soon as they enter the country. Its decision follows a Court of Appeal ruling last month that the human rights of three destitute asylum seekers were breached when the Government denied them support under Section 55 of the Nationality, Immigration and Asylum Act 2002.
