News In Brief: Survey by school governors on food policies

School governors want food policies in schools, according to a survey by the National Governors' Council. It found that governors in England were confused about the role governing bodies should play in food policies, and were concerned about catering companies and the quality of school meals. The council will work with the Food Standards Agency to clarify the roles of governing bodies and head teachers. Visit www.food.gov.uk.
