News in brief: Number of children in Scotland's special schools falls

The number of children being educated in Scotland's local authority special schools has fallen by 250 in the last year as the impact of inclusion in mainstream schools was felt. There was also a rise of almost a quarter in the number of children who had been in local authority schools but were now receiving education at home because of parental choice.
