The High Court has reserved judgment on the National Union of Teachers' challenge to regulations that, it claims, allow faith schools to sack gay or lesbian teachers. The union claimed last week that parts of the new Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2003 had no basis in European law. No date has yet been set for a decision.
