The Children's Mutual, the children's savings company, has defended its decision to appoint Capita, the company behind the Criminal Records Bureau, to manage its Child Trust Fund. The CRB has been dogged by rows over the price of records checks. David Halliday, marketing director at The Children's Mutual, said: "These are not decisions we take lightly."
