Access to legal aid solicitors in England and Wales has become a "postcode lottery", according to Citizens Advice. Its warning comes just weeks after the Solicitors Family Law Association and the Association of Lawyers for Children told the select committee on constitutional affairs that legal aid rates had to rise to halt the decline in the number of solicitors doing publicly funded family work (News, 21 January).
