A man who was abused in Islington children's homes in the 1970s will stand against children's minister Margaret Hodge for her seat in Barking in the next election. In 2003, Hodge, who was leader of Islington council from 1982 to 1992, had to apologise after labelling Demetrious Panton as an "extremely disturbed person".
