The National Union of Teachers has claimed an Ofsted report on the transition of five-year-olds into formal education is a "damning indictment" of the Foundation Stage Profile. John Bangs, Ofsted's head of education, said it was "just another version of tick-box testing". Ofsted found the Foundation Stage Profile received a "mixed response". Visit www.ofsted.gov.uk.
