Newcastle creates magazine for girls

Newcastle City Council has launched a glossy magazine in a bid to reduce teenage pregnancies in the area.

Mint magazine features fashion, beauty tips and relationship advice along with information about contraception and sexual health services in the city.

Linda Mason, head of inclusion for Newcastle City Council, said: "This information has often been presented in unfriendly leaflets which young people have not been interested in."
