NCB Now: Young members showcase work

1 min read
Two of NCB's young board members were invited by the Governance Hub to present their experiences of being part of NCB's Board of Management at a roundtable meeting, held at the Museum of Childhood earlier this month.

The event, hosted by NCB, Participation Works, the Charity Commission and funded by the Governance Hub, brought together some of the key players in youth governance to exchange information on current initiatives, inform future work and discuss what could be done to address this issue further.

To give this work some extra support, the Governance Hub will be funding NCB to run stage seminars in the north and south of England at the start of next year.

The seminars will challenge some of the myths associated with involving young people in governance and leadership by providing an opportunity to discuss examples of what has worked and to consider what makes participation in governance effective.

A summary of the day, and case studies of participation practice with young people in governance will be posted on the Governance Hub website (www.governancehub.org.uk) in due course.
