NCB Now: What's it like to play where you live?

Gathering the views of children and young people is central to the Playday campaign.

This year, as part of a body of research planned to support the campaign, Play England is asking children "what is it like to play where you live?" in the Playday drawing consultation. As well as giving children and young people another opportunity to contribute to the Our Place campaign, taking part is lots of fun, and children get the chance to win a digital camera too.

More than 1,200 children and young people put pen to paper last year to draw pictures of how they like to spend their time playing for the Make Time! campaign. Their entries showed all types of play, but most significantly the majority of images portrayed scenes of outdoor activity. Last year, Elizabeth, 9, drew herself and her best friends, and told us: "I like to play outside in the sun, rain or storm!"
