At the event, councillor for the borough of Kensington and Chelsea Baroness Shireen Ritchie, who has been appointed by the board of trustees as president-elect formally took up her role.
The meeting began with a members-only section in order to carry out the formal business and to hear about the work of the membership forum. The meeting then heard from a keynote address by Tim Loughton MP, who examined what lies ahead for the children's sector, which was followed by an incisive response from Sir Paul Ennals, NCB's chief executive.
