The event was hosted by Lord Ouseley and Lord Dholakia with contributions from Patrice Lawrence (who leads on equality and inclusion in NCB's Early Childhood Unit), Professor Gus John and Meryl Shepherd. The event also showcased the work of the Black Voices Network, hosted by NCB, which was established to offer a voice for black and ethnic minority practitioners to influence children's and workforce development policy.
The event brought together people of all backgrounds and ages to reconfirm their commitment to ensuring that all children grow up in a society free from discrimination.
