The Children and Young People's Research Network, based at Children in Wales, is bringing the All Wales Midwifery and Reproductive Health Research Forum, which was established in 2005 with a grant from the Health Foundation, into its structures to help support research.
The forum has helped create national standard monitoring tools for breastfeeding in Wales, which have developed from the promotion of breastfeeding and the need to have clear records to measure trends. A set of definitions has been piloted and the work is now being broadened out to the rest of Wales. The chair of the group is Prof. Billie Hunter from Swansea University.
