A Children in Wales report, Growing Up with Dad: Fathers and Their Impact on Substance Use, will be launched at the Growing up With Dad conference on 9 September in Cardiff.
Through an analysis of 18,000 questionnaires completed by young people in Wales, the report explores links between relationships with fathers and substance use. It looks at family structures and how young people rate their relationships with their fathers, and correlates this with how much they drink, smoke and use drugs.
The conference will give policy makers and practitioners working with families an opportunity to examine relationships between fathers and their children.
