NCB Now: News from Scotland - Children in Europe magazine

The forthcoming issue of Children in Europe was launched on 21 September and brings into the spotlight the role of the public and private sectors in early childhood services.

Nine European Union countries compare experiences and include examplesfrom both public and privately funded pre-school services. The magazineasks what public and private actually means in each country, and whetherthere are clearly defined roles and opportunities for working inpartnership.

In the UK, for example, integrating services has been a policy goal fornearly a decade, but how far has this actually become a reality?
