With its focus on children's wellbeing and welfare, this year's Children in Scotland annual conference, in association with Scottish Borders Council, again looks likely to generate interest from policy-makers and practitioners alike.
The two-day event, Healthy, happy and wise: working together for the wellbeing of Scotland's children, takes place on 1 and 2 November in Peebles. It will examine the theory that the state of our children's wellbeing is a measure of the state of our nation.
With speakers including Professor Lord Winston, world-renowned fertility expert, Scottish Cabinet Secretary Fiona Hyslop MSP, Italian early childhood education specialist Aldo Fortunati, and Professor Jonathan Bradshaw, co-author of the Unicef report on child wellbeing in developed countries, the stage is set for lively debate.
