She originally joined NCB in September 1999. Prior to this, she was director of the Sex Education Forum which operates under the aegis of NCB.
Gill has a long experience of campaigning and advocating for the entitlement of personal, social and health education (PSHE) of all children and young people and was involved in the development of the Teenage Pregnancy Strategy and the national PSHE Framework. She is currently interim chair of the Independent Advisory Group on Teenage Pregnancy.
She began her career as a nurse and health visitor where she became committed to health education.
