Our best practice: Leeds preventative strategy: promoting good outcomes for all children, young people and their families

"Since March 2004 we have been working hard to develop the Leeds preventative strategy for children and young people. The document promotes a common framework to which all agencies will contribute in order to achieve positive and effective services for children, young people, their families and carers.

"The strategy promotes the concepts reflected in Every Child Matters and aims to deliver agreed outcomes that will provide better support in reducing risk factors.

"A steering group, made up of representatives from voluntary and statutory agencies, has developed the document. Its content has been informed by the input of a significant number of contributors, including children and young people, parents and carers who were engaged through a participative consultation process during 2004."
