Our best practice: "YoungMinds has just completed a national research study exploring the experiences of young people from Black and minority ethnic groups using mental health services. The study, Minority Voices, reveals a very mixed picture of activity, suggesting that more needs to be done to develop services for these groups of young people.
"The research team found widespread misunderstanding and poor awareness of what mental health services can offer. The study highlights the importance of improving information on mental health services for young people and making services easier to access.
"As a result of the study, a range of new publications have been produced that aim to help practitioners develop services that are more culturally acceptable and accessible. These resources include a full research report, a guide to good practice in working with young people from Black and minority ethnic groups, and a series of information leaflets for young people."
