The FSO is the government's current expectation of short break service development, which is in line with the significant investment in short breaks over the 2009-11 Comprehensive Spending Review period.
This new training course is being delivered to enable short break service commissioners and providers to develop their knowledge and understanding of the FSO and how to meet it.
Short break service commissioners and providers need to familiarise themselves with the key principles of the FSO, data collection and eligibility criteria. The new course will meet this requirement and provide insight into the different perspectives of stakeholders within the Aiming High for Disabled Children transformation process. The course will also address the range of short break services, along with their potential barriers and workforce and training issues.
