HIV is a complex issue affecting many different aspects of young people's lives, including health, relationships, education and employment. A multi-disciplinary approach is essential to ensure all their needs are met - which is why effective partnership working is central to the network.
Maria Phelan, co-ordinator of the Children and Young People HIV Network, said: "Working directly with young people is key to understanding the needs of this group and how we can meet them. With this in mind, we have just completed a consultation with young people who attend the 900 clinic, which is the largest adolescent HIV clinic in the UK."
