The North South Ministerial Council, established as a result of the Good Friday Agreement, has now established a sub-committee to examine the potential for knowledge transfer relating to child protection in Ireland.
NCB NI is a member of this group, along with other children's research experts and key officials from the north and south of Ireland.
Celine McStravick, director of NCB NI, said: "Child protection is extremely important and it is vital both jurisdictions co-operate to keep our children safe. This group will examine what we currently know and we will seek to ensure effective dissemination of the information. It is early days but at our first meeting we have all shown commitment and an eagerness to get on with the task."
