The youngsters at Ingol Library near Preston, Lancashire, showed off their story-telling stamina with 22 other children and 14 parents and carers as part of the event. Lancashire County Library and Information Service hosted activities with help from Sure Start staff. Educational charity Bookstart runs the national event and has given away 3.7 million free books since 1999.
