My Life: Daniel Netting, 11, Portsmouth

1 min read
Last April we did a Stitch in Time Jewish university course where we looked at the Overlord Embroidery at the D-Day Museum. We made this tapestry. I did one with a glider. I'd not done tapestry before. We did some drama and face painting too. The drama ended in the same way as the tapestry. There were French people looking out of their window and people holding pretend rifles and stuff.

I like football, cricket and sailing. I try to go nearly every weekendnear Emsworth, Chichester. I've got my own little dinghy, which is anOptimist, and I sail that sometimes. I've done night sailing and acouple of weeks ago I sailed from Emsworth to Southsea arena, which tookthree to four hours.

Today I am looking forward to seeing Lloyd Grossman and picking up aRoots and Wings award for our tapestry.

- Daniel was speaking at 4Children's Roots and Wings Awards. Stitch inTime was a project that gave children an opportunity to interpret theOverlord Embroidery at the D-Day Museum in Portsmouth.
