MPs called on to back youth work

Youth Work
Young people and youth workers are being encouraged to lobby their MPs to sign an early day motion calling on the government to protect youth services.

Tom Blenkinsop, Labour MP for Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland,has put forward the motion, which states that the House of Commons"values highly the work of youth workers and the youth service andbelieves that these need urgent protection from unfair anddisproportionate cuts in local authority and voluntary sectorprovision".

Nine MPs have signed the motion so far.
